How we research
Price, customs, tax and refund information comes from the relevant authority wherever one exists, such as GOV.UK and HMRC, the Thai Revenue Department and Thai Customs, and the UAE Federal Tax Authority. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. Where we describe how a market works, we say whether the description comes from our own experience or from published sources. Where we cannot verify something, we say so.
Businesses we mention
We name dealers, boutiques, auction houses and services when they help answer the reader’s question, and we aim to include more than one where a choice exists. Where a commercial relationship or conflict of interest is relevant to a particular article, we say so in that article.
Quotes from practitioners
When we quote a dealer or specialist, we say who they are and what their business does. Quotes are used to add practical experience, and we confirm them with the person quoted before publishing.
